Frequently Asked Questions
What is a 'flaky' chip?
Our chips are made with flour, not corn. This is a game changer! Unlike hard pita chips, our chips have a flakiness - with a mouthwatering deliciousness!
Why is non-GMO, expeller pressed canola oil the better choice?
Of all fry oils, expeller pressed canola oil is lower in saturated fat and contains the most monounsaturated fat. Canola oil also contains Omega-3 fatty acids, a polyunsaturated fat that may work to lower cholesterol. In 2006, the FDA approved a health claim from canola oil that it supports heart health and reduces the risk of coronary heart disease due to its unsaturated fat content. With only 7% saturated fat, canola oil is 93% monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.
The polyunsaturated fats include the essential fatty acids known as alpha linolenic acid (omega-3) and linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid). In fact, canola oil contains the richest source of alpha-linoleic acid of most oils in North America.
Even better, the ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 is 2:1 - the best of all fry oils! Turns out, the ratio is the most important aspect of Omegas and the lower the ratio, the better. To compare, Sunflower oil has a ratio of 71:1, pretty unhealthy ratio.
Our canola oil is not only expeller pressed, but non-gmo - meaning our canola oil is not extracted using any chemicals or chemical methods and we use oil that is verified to be non-gmo.
Are you products kosher?
Yes, our products are kosher certified.
Are your chips gluten free?
Since our chips are made from flour, not corn, they are not gluten free. However, our salsas and sauces are gluten free and tested to under ten parts per million. Our chips are made in the same facility, however our bottling room is separate from the chip room.
Where can I buy your products?
Thanks for asking! We've just put an interactive map on our market page which shows many of the locations our products are being sold. Unfortunately, we sell through distributors that don't always let us know where they are being sold. We'll keep adding to the map as the information comes in to us. We also can't be sure of which products are sold in those stores, but again - as they let us know, we'll add that to each store.
What's up with the awesome van?
Our chipmobile can be seen driving around the country giving away our flaky love!!
